Arrival in Stockholm according to your own itinerary. Sweden’s Capital is charming, vibrant and surrounded by beauty and water – hence its nickname, Venice of the North. Stockholm city has an abundance of charm, history and tradition. This urban and trendy city will impress you
with its interesting museums and castles. The city keeps its warm atmosphere apparent in the old town. Take time to explore the small and winding alleyways – the perfect area to find a suitable restaurant for the evening. Accommodation in 3* hotel in Stockholm city
Enjoy the day to discover Stockholm further. If the weather allows a boat trip to the beautiful archipelago is always worth it or discover one of the islands which is close by – for example Fjäderholmarna. If you are a fan of music a visit to the ABBA museum should be on top of your bucket list since here you can sing and dance and feel yourself as a member of the band.
Today you start your journey north and pass the coastline of the Gulf of Bothnia. In the afternoon you will reach Sundsvall, the first stop. This town is the perfect mix between city and nature. It’s up to you to either chose shopping or hiking.
After breakfast we will continue our journey up north along the High Coast which is the world’s highest coastline and listed on the UNESCO Heritage Sites. Enjoy breathtaking views and beautiful nature. Spend your night away from the crowd in the relaxing town of Örnsköldsvik the home of Fjällräven.
Continuing your trip you will reach Umeå. As one of the most populated regions in Northern Sweden this town is considered the cultural capital. As a truly cultural hub, Umeå offers a lot of interesting museums which are always worth a visit.
Today’s destination is Luleå. In Luleå you will find the old church town “Gammelstad” which is listed as a UNESCO heritage site and has a long history in relationship with the Sami culture. Dive deeper into this astonishing part of Swedish history and learn more about this interesting little church town.
Who hasn’t dreamt of sleeping in a treehouse as a child? Today is your chance to visit one of Sweden’s most unique hotels, the Treehotel. You can go on a guided tour and discover this interesting property. You are now truly in the heart of Lapland – land of the Sami.
After breakfast you will continue your journey towards Abisko which is the furthest north you will go. During fall this is also the best place to catch a glimpse of the mysterious Aurora Borealis. Be sure to take the chairlift up to the sky station to have the best possible view.
Enjoy a day at leisure and explore the nature surrounding Abisko with its numerous hiking trails and many reindeer.
Today you will start your journey south towards Kiruna. Here you can visit the mine and learn more about Kiruna’s development as a mining town. When you leave the city make sure to stop by the famous Icehotel. Have a drink in the ice bar and admire the beautiful ice art.
You are not leaving Swedish Lapland just yet. Today you will spend the day in Jokkmokk which is famous for its annual Sami market. If you are lucky you might still catch a last glimpse of the Northern Lights in fall.
Today we start our real journey down back to Stockholm. You will pass the tracks of the famous Inlandsbana – the local train network. If you have time to spare be sure to jump on board and enjoy beautiful scenery.
After breakfast you’ll make your way down to Östersund. Close by you’ll have the opportunity to meet Swedish moose at the Moose Garden. Enjoy your afternoon feeding the moose and learn more about their natural habitat.
The last stop on your journey will be Falun in the heart of Dalarna. Dalarna is mostly known for its rich culture and signature little red wooden horse. Visit the manufactory in Nusnäs and buy your traditional souvenir along the way.
You will now reach your final destination: Stockholm. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure before travelling back to your home country.
