Itinerary

Day 1Oslo

Welcome to Oslo, Norway’s biggest city and capital for more then 700 years. The history of Oslo dates back to the middle ages and the city is located at the Oslofjord and surrounded by forest.

Day 2Oslo - Lillehammer (train)

Breakfast at your hotel. Depart Oslo to Lillehammer by train. The site of the 1994 Winter Olympics, the Olympic Museum and Arena are worth a visit as is the Maihaugen Open Air Museum which covers 300 years of the history of the Gudbrandsdalen Valley.

Day 3Lillehammer - Åndalsnes – Geiranger (train/bus)

Breakfast at your hotel. Morning departure from Lillehammer by train, heading north to Åndalsnes, a journey which takes you through the Romsdalen Valley and from Dombås on the spectacular Rauma Railway along the Rauma River . Swopping over to a tourist coach in Åndalsnes, continue towards Geiranger along the famous Troll Road with its 11 dramatic winding turns. Finally, a short ferry crossing takes you to the Eagle Road and to Geiranger.

Day 4Geirangerfjord – Ålesund (boat)

After breakfast at your hotel, board a boat for a cruise in the well-known Geirangerfjord with its waterfalls and mountain farms situated high up on the mountainsides – some so high that it’s difficult to understand how people and livestock could survive in such difficult terrain. Evening arrival in Ålesund.

Day 5Ålesund

Breakfast at your hotel. Day at your own leisure in the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund. The town centre is a lively urban scene with pleasant restaurants and cafés and the Brosundet canal offers a pretty pictures with its fishing boats.

Day 6Ålesund - Hurtigruten

Breakfast at your hotel. Enjoy another day full of opportunities to continue exploring Ålesund. Late this evening, board the Coastal steamer (Hurtigruten) for a your cruise down the Western Norwegian coast.

Day 7Hurtigruten - Bergen

Breakfast on board. The morning is yours to relax on board of the ship taking in the views of the spectacular Norwegian fjords. Afternoon disembark in Bergen, Norway’s second largest city and the world’s only city surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords.

Day 8Bergen

Breakfast at your hotel. Day at leisure to explore Bergen, the capital of the fjords.

Day 9Depart Bergen

Breakfast at your hotel and depart according to your itinerary.
