Breakfast at your hotel. Depart Oslo to Lillehammer by train. The site of the 1994 Winter Olympics, the Olympic Museum and Arena are worth a visit as is the Maihaugen Open Air Museum which covers 300 years of the history of the Gudbrandsdalen Valley.

Morning departure from Lillehammer by train, heading north to Åndalsnes, a journey which takes you through the Romsdalen Valley and from Dombås on the spectacular Rauma Railway along the Rauma River . Swopping over to a tourist coach in Åndalsnes, continue towards Geiranger along the famous Troll Road with its 11 dramatic winding turns. Finally, a short ferry crossing takes you to the Eagle Road and to Geiranger.

After breakfast at your hotel, board a boat for a cruise in the well-known Geirangerfjord with its waterfalls and mountain farms situated high up on the mountainsides – some so high that it’s difficult to understand how people and livestock could survive in such difficult terrain. Evening arrival in Ålesund.
