This combination tour of land and cruise takes you from Oslo to Trondheim by train; from Trondheim to Bergen on a cruise and back to Oslo on a variety of trains and cruises. The route is spectacular all the way, from sweeping countryside views to city sightseeing; from driving along the Atlantic Ocean Road to cruising the fjords. To round all this off, a ride on the famous Flam Railway best known as part of the ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ tour and a visit to the Viking Village of Gudvangen.

After breakfast this morning, depart Oslo on on a scenic train journey to Trondheim. Relax and take in the breathtaking landscapes of the Norwegian countryside along the way.
Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic city tour before checking in to your hotel. Trondheim, Norway’s third-largest city, is steeped in Viking history, having been founded on the banks of the Nidelven River in the 10th century. Known as Nidaros until the 16th century, this charming city is known for its lush green spaces and picturesque streets. Stroll through the historic quarters and pedestrian-friendly centre and admire the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral—one of Northern Europe’s finest Gothic masterpieces.
Check out after breakfast and board your cruise sailing through the wide Trondheim fjord, bounded by rolling farmlands to enter the coast and the open sea.
Disembark in Trondheim to join your coach tour along the famously scenic Atlantic Ocean Road. The route winds across islets and skerries affording spectacular coastal views.

The final day of your cruise takes you through diverse coastal landscapes, bare rocky mountains and a maze of sounds and waterways. Afternoon arrival in picturesque Bergen. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal combination of nature, culture, and exciting urban life all year around.
After disembarking, meet your your local guide for a two hour tour passing the most emblematic places – the Hanseatic Bryggen, with the church of Mary, the Hakon fortress and the famous fish market.
After breakfast this morning, take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Bergen from the surrounding mountains.
Board the Fløibanen Funicular, one of Norway’s most famous attractions, for a scenic ride to Mount Fløyen (320 m above sea level). In just 5–8 minutes, you’ll reach the summit, where sweeping views of Bergen and the fjords unfold.
After your mountaintop adventure, suggest you try a delicious tasting platter at a charming restaurant in Bergen’s iconic fish market. Savor local specialties such as smoked salmon, fresh shrimp, and hot-smoked whale, immersing yourself in the flavors of Norway’s coastal heritage.
Departing Bergen, continue on the scenic route to Hardangerfjord, one of Norway’s most breathtaking fjords. After a short cruise taking you to Bondhus, take a hike along an easy trail to the magnificent icefall and valley which has drawn tourists since the mid-1800s. Following the historic path from the quaint hamlet of Sundal, you’ll arrive at the serene Bondhusvatnet Lake, framed by the majestic Bondhus Glacier. If you prefer not to hike, free time to explore Bondhus on your own.
Later this afternoon, board an electric boat for a peaceful cruise through the enchanting Hardangerfjord, renowned to be one of Norway’s most romantic destinations. During summer, the fjord is lined with vibrant orchards in full bloom, painting the landscape in shades of pink and white. Snow-capped peaks tower in the distance, completing the idyllic scenery. Whether you choose to relax in the cozy lounges or admire the views from the open deck, this cruise promises an unforgettable experience amidst Norway’s most charming villages and farms.
Set off after breakfast by coach for Voss to join the the world’s most scenic railway route – the Flåm Railway. From Voss, take the train to the Myrdal, a remote mountain station. From Myrdal transfer over to the world-famous Flåmsbana, one of the steepest railway lines in the world. This breathtaking ride winds through stunning landscapes—steep mountains, cascading waterfalls, and deep valleys—passing through 20 tunnels and numerous scenic viewpoints, making every moment a photographer’s dream.
Arrive Flåm where schedule permitting, set sail on a cruise through the UNESCO-listed Sognefjord to Gudvangen, a fairytale setting of towering cliffs and serene waters. Enjoy free time to explore the Open-Air Viking Village and step back in time to experience Viking life.
After lunch, continue your journey toward Gol making a stop at the historic Borgund Stave Church, one of Norway’s best-preserved medieval wooden churches.
Continue along the beautiful route through the highlands and coast of Lake Kroderen with an afternoon arrival in Oslo. After a sightseeing tour of Oslo, check in to your hotel. The tour includes a visit to the Frogner Park home to more than 200 sculptures of Gustav Vigeland. You will also see the magnificent Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress.
