Itinerary

Day 1 - Friday Arrive Oslo

Welcome to the Kingdom of Norway – a country with the most beautiful fjords on Earth!

Depending on your arrival time, you can begin exploring Oslo right away on your own. Oslo boasts a tapestry of attractions – history at Viking Ship Museum, art at Munch Museum, contemporary designs and blended into the mix, delectable cuisine at the many Grünerløkka’s eateries.

This evening meet your Tour Leader at the reception of our hotel for an informative meeting about your tour.

Day 2 - SaturdayOslo – Flåm - Sognefjord- Voss

Breakfast in the hotel.

Morning departure towards the fjord area of Norway.

Driving through the Norwegian nature, you pass Lake Tyrifjord, one of the largest lakes in Norway which plays an important role for resting migratory birds. Continue the drive through magnificent Hallingdal Valley towards the picturesque village of Flåm.

In Flåm you board the famous Flåmsbana heading towards Myrdal. Flåmsbana is one of the steepest trainlines in the world and the train journey runs through the most breath taking views past the Rallar road, steep mountains, waterfalls and through 20 tunnels. The journey continues by train to Voss or time permitting, we’ll join a cruise from Gudvangen – Flåm, sailing through the idyllic Sognefjord, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The coach will be waiting at the end of the cruise in Gudvangen to continue the trip to Voss.

Day 3 - SundayVoss - Bergen

After breakfast, depart for Bergen, the Gateway to the Fjords of Norway. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal combination of nature, culture, and exciting urban life all year around.

After arrival, meet your local guide for a 2-hour sightseeing tour of the most emblematic places of Bergen; the Hanseatic Bryggen with the church of Mary, the Hakon fortress and the famous Fish market. Then take a ride on the Fløibanen Funicular for a spectacular sweeping view of Bergen and surrounds.

Day 4 - MondayBergen - Sognefjord - Briksdall Glacier - Loen

After breakfast board your coach and head north. Today you’ll cross the famous Sognefjord from Oppdal to Lavik by ferry. Sognefjord is Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, stretching 204 kilometres inland from the coast north of Bergen.

Then continue by road towards the famous Briksdaal Glacier. The Glacier, set between cascading waterfalls and high peaks, attracts visitors from around the world due to its beauty. Briksdalsbreen is an arm of the great Jostedalsbreen Glacier and located inside the Jostedalsbreen National Park where from 1.200 metres above, the glacier plunges down into the beautiful Briksdalen Valley. The Briksdalen Valley can be approached by foot or with one of the “Trollcars” up to the glacier. A fee is payable for use of the Trollcar.

Day 5 - TuesdayLoen - Geiranger Fjord - Troll's Road - Molde

Depart to Geiranger to board a sightseeing cruise on the Geiranger fjord one of the Norway’s most narrow and impressive fjords. Dominated by a huge rock face with stunning waterfalls Geiranger is home to the famous The Seven Sisters or The Veil of the Bride.

After the cruise continue north passing the famous Eagle Road where the steepest stretch of road goes the mountain side from Geiranger towards Eidsdal. This is the famous road no. 63 with its 11 hairpin bends which takes you to the highest point at Korsmyra, 620 metres above sea level. The road was an great success from day one and was named the Eagle Road since the highest point passed through terrain which had traditionally been the domain of a large number of eagles. Next a short ferry crossing from Eidsdal takes us to Linge to reach the Trolls Road. This is a drive with the most memorable views.

Finally, another short ferry crossing from Vestnes brings us to our final stop of the day – Molde.

Day 6 - WednesdayMolde - Atlantic Road - Oppdal

Today we enjoy the scenic views on the Atlantic Road, crossing bridges and dikes driving along the edge of the ocean. This road is a true masterpiece of civil engineering and was voted the “work of art of the century” by the Norwegians and ranked one of the best road routes in the world by the Daily The Guardian. Continue south to Oppdal.

Day 7 - ThursdayOttal Region - Oslo

Today we return to Oslo with a short stop in Lillehammer for free time to explore the Olympic City. Continue to Oslo via Hamar and along the coast of Lake Mjøsa, the largest lake in Norway. Arrive Oslo where before checking in to your hotel, enjoy a 3-hour sightseeing tour with a local guide. The tour of the city includes a visit to the Frogner Park with all sculptural Vigeland, the magnificent Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress.

Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 8 - FridayOslo to Stockholm

Breakfast in the hotel.

A short walk to the station for your high speed train to Stockholm/

Afternoon at leisure. Built on 14 islands, you’re never far from the water in Stockholm. . Sights of interest are the Vasa Museum, the Skansen Open Air Museum, City Hall, the Old Town (Gamla Stan) and many more. If you prefer, taken an optional guided city sightseeing tour.

Day 9 - SaturdayStockholm

Breakfast in the hotel.

After breakfast this morning, transfer to your Royal Canal Cruise taking you down the canals and introducing you to the city from the water. The City’s grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history and museums blend together to reveal its 700 year-old history and present a beautiful landscape from the water. After the cruise free time to continue to explore the city and make your own way back to the hotel.

Day 10 - SundayDepart Stockholm

Check out after breakfast and depart or if you’d like to see more of Scandinavia, extend with a visit to Helsinki, Copenhagen or Tallinn. Prices on request.
