Arrive in Helsinki and transfer to your hotel. The festive season is a magical time to be here — streets glow with countless lights, shop windows sparkle with colourful displays, and the air is filled with the spirit of Christmas.
Depending on your arrival time and the Ice Hockey League schedule, you may have the opportunity of attending an ice hockey game this evening.
Helsinki is a compact city, making it easy to explore. This morning, your guided tour will showcase the city’s most fascinating sights: the historic centre, the stunning library, the impressive City Hall, the Parliament buildings, and the unique Temppeliaukio Church, also known as the Rock Church.
Evening departure by overnight train to Rovaniemi. Be sure to stop by the onboard restaurant for a drink with the locals and try the legendary Finnish meatballs with mash and lingonberries. Note: Sleeper cabins feature two single bunk beds (200×75 cm). Children under 12 share with their parents at no extra charge. A supplement applies if an additional cabin is needed.
Arrive Lapland and and transfer to Pyhätunturi.
After dinner this evening, settle into a heated sleigh pulled by a snowmobile and glide through the wintery night in search of the magical Northern Lights.
Ever dreamed of being a husky musher? Huskies are spirited and strong — able to pull up to five times their own weight with ease!
Your adventure begins with an introductory talk about the huskies and some driving instruction. Then it’s time to put your musher skills to the test as you set off through the forest with a passenger in your sleigh. Hold on to your beanie — it’s going to be a thrilling ride!
Just 20 minutes from Pyhätunturi, in the village of Luosto, lies the world’s northernmost Amethyst Mine.
Perched atop the fell, the Mine offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Even getting there is part of the adventure — a scenic ride in a carriage pulled by a snow tractor. After an informative presentation about the mine, it’s your turn to dig for your very own lucky stone — a sure hit with the kids!
For those keen to hit the slopes, Pyhä ski area is perfect for beginners learning downhill skiing. If skiing isn’t your style, try something equally active and scenic — cross-country skiing. The ski shop has all the equipment you need, and English-speaking instructors are available. With floodlit slopes and tracks, the fun continues before the Arctic sunrise and after sunset.
It’s time to meet Lapland’s most iconic animal — the reindeer! Snuggle into a sleigh pulled by a reindeer and glide gently through the snow-covered forest, soaking in the peaceful beauty of your pristine surroundings.
Free time in between activities? Grab a tobaggan and head for the toboggan run.
Today’s a very special day — it’s the day you meet Santa! You’ll need a personal invitation for this one, and it’s only given to well-behaved boys and girls, big and small. So take note — the elves are out and keeping an eye on you!
Word from the elves is that Santa does enjoy a little something sweet, so before we meet him, we’ll work on creating something special just for him.
Enjoy some free time to choose from optional activities like snowmobiling. If you’re heading out on a snowmobile, you’ll receive full instruction and gear before setting off with your guide across the frozen lake and through snow-covered forests. A thrilling adventure awaits! Please note: drivers must hold a valid driving licence.
This is a good opportunity to use your included chairlift ticket and ride to the top of the fell for o breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. If you start to feel the chill, just step into the cosy restaurant at the summit for something warm to enjoy.
Tonight’s dinner is a lavish Christmas feast with an abundant hot and cold buffet — so be sure to save your appetite!
Sadly, your magical days in this winter wonderland have come to an end, and it’s time to say farewell to Pyhätunturi.
But the adventure isn’t over yet — next stop is Santa Village in Rovaniemi! Enjoy some free time to explore and soak up the festive atmosphere of this famous destination.
